CUENTOS DE LA LUNA DE QUESO

LDQ_Img01.png

Cuentos de la Luna de Queso is a 3-minute senior capstone film created by a team of 10 students using 3D production workflows in Autodesk Maya and Houdini. I worked as a producer, animator, and lighting artist, contributing both creatively and organizationally throughout the production.

As producer, I tracked team tasks, took and distributed meeting notes, and created monthly and weekly production schedules to help keep the team organized and on track. As an animator and lighting artist, I also contributed directly to the visual development and production of the film.

My Work On Flow/ShotGrid

I customized Autodesk Flow (formerly ShotGrid) to create a more efficient and user-friendly production tracking system for artists. I redesigned the overview layout and navigation bar, organizing key production areas including Schedule, Assets, Shots, Sequences, Review, and Crew.

I developed separate Personal and Crew Schedule views to help artists manage their individual tasks while also understanding how their work fits into the larger production schedule. I also created task templates that outlined pipeline steps for both assets and shots, automatically generating tasks based on each stage of production.

For the Assets and Shots pages, I customized columns, color-coded pipeline steps and task statuses, added start dates, due dates, and durations, and organized assets using tags. These changes helped create a clear, consistent workflow that made it easier for artists to understand their responsibilities, track progress, and see the overall production timeline.

My Work on Google Sheets

I created and maintained a Google Sheets “Master Document” to centralize important production information and help the team stay organized. The document included links, presentations, meeting notes, animation progress, and post-production assignments, with additional sheets created as needed to break down specific tasks and workflows.

I developed a shot-tracking sheet organized into three sections: general shot information, layout, and 3D animation. This allowed the team to track shot details, assignments, progress, and overall completion. I also created a post-production tracking sheet that organized each step of the pipeline by artist and assignment, including percentage-based progress tracking. These tools provided the team with a clear overview of production status and helped identify what still needed to be completed.
